Just remember this when you are touting PL - PL will be the catalyst for a lot of new development in Long Branch, Langley Crossroads, College Park, and beyond. Transit-Oriented Mixed Use legislatyion will put a development overlay zone around stations at these locations, and developers will build new housing and update older housing. More people will move into the area. Even if half of these new residents don't drive (which is widly optimistic), there will still be more cars on area streets when the PL is finished. Not fewer cars - MORE CARS

I have always been a big transit advocate, but I support transit intended to solve transportyation problems, not projects intended to provide more fodder for development. Don't get me wrong - I think a some development is needed and good, I'm just not convinced that PL will be much of a solution for anyone but developers.

If you think PL will mean fewer cars in SS and surrounding ares, you had better take another look...

Admittedly, that was kind of an obscure way to reference it. Spock did say that, as implied by the half human (half Vulcan) comment. Kirk, on the other hand, saved his friend at great risk to himself and his crew, telling Spock: "Sometimes the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many." Apologies to Kirk because his theory doesn't apply to this.

Like I said, a bit obscure...
