I will be a frequent patron of that new consignment store – a welcome plus.

As to the Exxon becoming a park or garden — the rehab required for a former gas station is pretty much insurmountable. Cementing it all in and making a skate park is not a bad idea – since it is backing onto the hideous Towers it could afix a ramp down and sell tickets for some fancy stunts performed from the Towers’ pool deck.

Everytime I go to that gas station on Bonifant I hope against hope that they’ve changed to pay at the pump! It’s been that way ever since I can remember. At least they are nice and cheerful inside. I thought we’d be losing that gas station to become a parking lot for the “church” in the building next to it. Two thumbs up to the consignment shop! I missed the old funky one,”Lighthouse for the Blind” charity on Wayne Avenue. Forever Frugal should be a winner right now.

Love the idea of a community garden/skate park. I was on the 79 bus going to downtown DC earlier this morning, which went by the Old City Green gardening center/nursery near the Convention Center. Is something like that too much to hope for? Probably.

Do we know who the owners are of that parcel?

I’d totally buy into an In-N-Out, but it might not be very conducive to my health. I think I’d vote for the Thayer Avenue garden/skatebaord park just to get ESSCA all riled up and in a tizzy. Just think of the bowls and pipes (0_o) almost pre-made when they remove the fuel tanks!

This station’s pumps never worked, plus, they were about 5c per gallon more than the station on Easley; but I always went there because it was closer to my house. Hoping for an “In and Out” to take its place.

When do you think folks will start lobbying for either a park or single-family homes on the Exxon plot? Certainly not for urban retail space or more high-density housing.

That’s the reason I *never* went to that one. We didn’t necessarily need both of those gas stations, but I think they’re razing the wrong one. Or else the one at Bonifant has to get some pay-at-the-pump action.

The other gas station on Fenton is annoying with its 20th century no-pay-at-the-pump technology.
