My fiance and I watched you guys on the Promenade, it was hilarious and great fun. Cheers to the lady with the umbrella who our Eskie was happy to lick (thankfully she has not turned into a zombie puppy!) and to the hilarity of watching everyone attacking the costume shop. Jeers to the brooding angsty emo teens who kept making the obvious question/statement/catcall "halloween was yesterday, it's November 1, halloween is over" and the 14-16 year old kids trying to act hard by saying "i'm gonna slap them fools if they get up near me."

I'm not sure if you can find two farther ends of the spectrum than the blogosphere folks who would be fun enough to do a Zombie Walk, and the teen groups who normally occupy Elsworth, so it made for quite the social observation. Of course, if a horde of zombie-walkers wasn't subject to judgement by a group of slightly rowdy teens, this wouldn't have been a "silver spring" zombie walk, would it?

Zombie Walk: Total success.

Quarry House Tavern: From the way I got treated when I dropped in post-apocalypse for a Trappist Ale and Tater Tots? They want to see any of us again like they want to have real zombies gnaw through their necks. I'll go back to that place when hell freezes and I want to ice-skate with the damned. If the tater-tots they served me are what they serve everyone, it's a wonder anyone has ever survived. Not to mention, $16.00 plus tips for fried potatoes far inferior to a McDonalds clone, and a beer, that's highway robbery and I'd rather get robbed in Adams Morgan.

If this is typical of the "revitalized downtown Silver Spring", might as well let it slide back into slumdom. At least the blatant craposity would be authentic instead of plastered over with faux pretty like lipstick on a demon cheerleader with five inch horns and eight inch fangs.

Anyone who admits to being a regular should be dragged behind a semi from the District to Hagerstown and left there, where they might fit right in with the crack whores and shambling alkies in the H'Town downtown.
