Is this an existential problem?

In looking up a business location in Rockville today, I ran across this map. I present it to you in all its unadulterated glory. Anyone notice anything?

Silver Spring is nowhere to be found. It’s SO BIG that it disappeared? Since Oakview, Hillandale Dennis Ave, Forest Glen and White Oak are in Silver Spring – it’s boundaries are too big to map?

The Naval Surface Weapons Center is nowhere near the water. Except maybe for that pond they have out front. (Note to self: stay away from pond.)

Hey, technically it doesn’t say Washington DC, either.

Typical, map quest and navteq are notorious for not only leaving Silver Spring off the map but for giving bad directions too.

That’s why you have to use Google Maps. Mapquest is so totally lame that Silver Spring refuses to acknowledge it. We dumped THEM, not the other way around.

Maybe if we weren’t too lazy to get out and vote (and incorporate the city), we wouldn’t have this problem. I’d run for mayor in a heartbeat.

Aren’t there enough elected official for you to rant about already?!?

Assuming the universe didn’t collapse in on itself when I got elected, it would (at least) give me more opportunities to use a microphone and increase my broadcast presence exponentially. They’d HAVE to let me on Cable County Montgomery.

To be mayor of Silver Spring you need to be homeless.

I never remember so many exit interchanges on the Beltway when I lived there. Then again, maybe those white squares are cars stuck on the Beltway. One square equals 10,000 cars.

Would that mean that the McDonald’s on Colesville across from the metro is City hall, Sligo?

Easley Rider!…. damn, why didn’t I think of that one!! I bow to your superior nom de plume.

Easley, I have a homeless person McDonald’s story that I have been wanting to tell for awhile. Look for it in a post in the next week or so.

If I lived on Easley, I’d be Easley-E.
