“Montgomery County Detectives are continuing to investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Silver Spring.

Police were called to the 800-block of Easely Street around 11:15 p.m. Friday night where they found 30-year-old Mark Ray on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Authorities transported Ray to the hospital were he died.

Investigators say a possible suspect was observed fleeing from the area and describe him as a possible African-American in his 20′s. There is no further description at this time.

Heard they were having happy hour specials on screwdrivers at the Quarry House.

“Inside Banya’s car officers say they found several thousand DVD movies. Banya was also charged with unauthorized selling of copyrighted recorded materials…”

So the alleged stabber was also operating a mobile Blockbusters. I wondered if he had a DVDs of Saw or Jagged Edge.

I was in Adams Morgan a few years ago and saw an altercation up at 18th and Columbia. Two cars pulled over after much yelling and swerving, and one driver got out and approached the other (a cab, incidentally) swinging a tire iron. I left pretty quickly.

I bet the Mad DC Cabbie has some good stories – if he’s listening…

Reading this made me happy (for a second) that Up The Pike, walking is generally impossible and people will not get out of their car without much of a reason. Oh, well. As they say: two steps forward, one stab back.
